Truu Scotchy

An Atlanta native, Truu Scotchy (Terry Whatley) was born on April 9, 1978. He is one of Power 107.9’s top 50 streamed artists. A rising hip-hop artist, Truu Scotchy (a.k.a. Spyderman24) first gained attention in 2015 with his hit single, "Pressure". The single sparked a loyal online fan base which now includes more than 75,000 Twitter followers and 13,000 Instagram followers.

His music bears the soul of Atlanta's streets, especially the struggle to make ends meet. Truu Scotchy's lyrics are part social commentary, part self-reflection on his fast-track career. His single, “Cannabis”, discusses both his recreational and medical uses of marijuana. In “Pressure”, he talks about the pressure that comes with competing for attention in the hip-hop industry.

When he’s not creating music, he’s trying to keep up with his highly active son, Terry. He also owns Truuscotchy Media, a self-started company through which he sells his own mixtapes, apparel, and accessories which feature his stage name, Truu Scotchy, and trademarked logo.
